Buyer questions

The checks that come before a listing.

Straight answers for category buyers, private-label managers and procurement leads. If your question is not here, send the brief and we will answer it the same business day.

What are typical minimum order quantities?

Order sizes are set per product and channel. There are no rigid container minimums. The current Australian line can start at a single case. Private-label MOQs follow the factory and the tier you brief — value lines often run higher volume; premium can be tighter. We put a number on the first reply, not after you have already committed.

How long from brief to shelf?

About 90 days is typical from a locked brief to the first shelf-ready order at an Australian warehouse. That covers sample, approve and deliver. Complex specs, new artwork or peak season can add time. We confirm a timetable with the sample, not as a slogan.

How do samples work?

After the brief we lock a maker and send samples with a draft spec. Your team tastes, costs and marks up. Artwork and production wait on that approve step. If a sample misses, we go again before anyone prints a label.

Who owns the artwork and the recipe?

Your brand marks stay yours. Artwork is prepared to your brief for your pack. The recipe and supplier files for that brief are treated as confidential and shared under NDA. Exclusive use can be written into the brief. We do not reuse a buyer’s own-brand recipe for another banner.

What is the recall process?

Every load is tracked to a batch number from maker to warehouse. A 24-hour recall plan runs from alert to the store warehouse. It is tested every quarter. That is the plan buyers ask for before the first order, not after a problem.

Are you ready for a major-chain listing?

We already ship to 10,000+ stores through Australia’s largest independent grocery wholesaler. The quality pack, supplier audits, lab results and tracking records sit on file, so a major-chain listing does not wait on paperwork built after the win. We do not name major retail private-label clients on this site.

How do we get supplier files and the compliance pack?

There is no public PDF. ISO summary, HACCP approach, FSANZ labelling notes, batch tracking and the recall procedure are sent under NDA to your nominated buyer or quality contact, typically the same business day. See quality & compliance or request the compliance pack (NDA).

Which categories can you source or build?

Drinks and beverages; snacks and confectionery; bakery, biscuits and wafers; pasta, sauces and cooking bases; rice, grains, pulses and pantry staples; oils, condiments, dressings and pickles; spices and seasonings; ready meals and meal kits; tea, coffee and hot beverages; and breakfast cereals and staples. Snacks also includes six frozen potato and veg snack families: French fries, potato specialties, veggie specialties, Indian ethnic, baked snacks and beyond potato. If it sells off a supermarket shelf, we can source it or build the own-brand around it. See the catalogue range and private label.

Do you offer parallel imports?

Where we bring a global brand to an Australian shelf, we work from authorised supply with the maker — not grey-market stock. Shipments include full records, country-of-origin labels and packs that meet FSANZ rules. One partner runs sourcing, customs, border checks and shelf-ready setup. See global sourcing.

How does a sourcing or private-label brief work?

Send the product, the type or tier (value, mid or premium), the channel and the volume, plus a target price if you have one. We reply the same business day with indicative pricing, order sizes, lead times and how the quality pack is shared under NDA. Start a sourcing brief or start a private-label brief.

What are payment terms and stock holding?

For the current Australian range, stock is held here. Terms are 15 days. There is no big container minimum and no cash tied up in a full import run to test a line. Private-label first orders follow the factory terms we agree in the brief.

How quickly can quality see the compliance pack?

Once we have a work email and an NDA path, the pack typically goes the same business day. It is a file send, not a website download. Name the quality or buyer contact in the brief so it does not sit in a general inbox.
