Private label

Own-brand, from brief to shelf.

Value, mid or premium. Your team writes the brief. We find the maker, lock the recipe, prepare the artwork, meet FSANZ labelling rules and land the first order at your warehouse. Four steps for you. About 90 days to a shelf-ready pack.

Tier strategy

Three ways to range an own-brand.

Same supply path. Different cost, pack and claim set. Tell us the tier in the brief and we source to it.

01

Value

Everyday lines built to a sharp unit cost. Honest packs, clean labels, no extra claims. Made for volume and a clear price gap to the branded alternative.

  • Cost-led spec and pack
  • Core SKUs, high velocity
  • Simple artwork, FSANZ-ready

02

Mid

The workhorse own-brand. Match or beat the category leader on taste and pack, at a better landed cost. The tier most buyers start with.

  • Like-for-like to a hero SKU
  • Balanced cost and quality
  • Room for a second flavour or size

03

Premium

A tighter spec, better ingredients and a pack that can sit beside a brand leader. Still one supplier, one order, one recall plan.

  • Higher spec and finish
  • Origin or quality story, if it is true
  • Artwork and claims checked before print

We build across the same ten catalogue categories we source: drinks and beverages; snacks and confectionery; bakery, biscuits and wafers; pasta, sauces and cooking bases; rice, grains, pulses and pantry staples; oils, condiments, dressings and pickles; spices and seasonings; ready meals and meal kits; tea, coffee and hot beverages; and breakfast cereals and staples. Snacks includes six frozen potato and veg snack families for a retail freezer or HoReCa kitchen. See the frozen family and the catalogue range.

Buyer journey

Four steps for you. About 90 days to shelf.

We run sourcing, audits, production, customs and quality between each step. Timing is typical, not a guarantee. Complex specs or peak season can add time.

01
Brief

Product, tier, channel, volume and a target price. Brand marks and any retailer spec if you have them.

02
Sample

We lock a maker, send samples and a draft spec. You taste, cost and mark up.

03
Approve

Recipe, artwork and labels signed off. FSANZ and country-of-origin checks before we print.

04
Deliver

Production, shipping, border checks and delivery to your warehouse. Batch-tracked, recall plan live.

Who does what

You brief. We build.

Your team stays on the commercial calls. We own the work between brief and first warehouse delivery.

What you supply

The brief

  • Category, product and pack idea
  • Tier: value, mid or premium
  • Channel, volume and a target price
  • Logo and brand marks, if you have them
  • Any retailer or quality spec you need us to hit

What Shiiv handles

The build

  • Supplier search, audit and factory checks
  • Recipe and spec against the brief
  • Artwork and FSANZ-ready labels
  • Production, customs and warehouse delivery
  • Batch tracking and the 24-hour recall plan

Labelling & compliance

Labels that can sit on an Australian shelf.

We prepare packs to the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code. We do not skip a claim to win a listing. If a statement is not supported, it does not go on the pack.

FSANZ

Food Standards Code

Ingredient lists, allergen declarations and nutrition information prepared to the Code before artwork is signed off.

COO

Country of origin

Clear “made in” and “packed in” statements on every shelf-ready own-brand pack.

QA

Quality on file

ISO 9001 quality system, HACCP-checked makers and a batch-level recall plan. The pack is sent under NDA on request. There is no public PDF download.

Brief to shelf

Two anonymised programs. No banner names.

We do not list major-chain private-label clients. These are the shape of work we already run: a locked brief, a factory sample, a first warehouse drop.

Own-brand, mid tier

Wafers and rice cups, first delivery inside 90 days.

A national independent grocery buyer needed a mid-tier wafer and rice-cup set to fill a ranging gap. Brief locked in week one. Factory samples in week three. First warehouse delivery inside 90 days. The line is still ranging.

Frozen fill, HoReCa

Fries and hash browns, sourced to a foodservice spec.

A foodservice group asked for a frozen potato fill: fries and hash brown patties, private-label capable for HoReCa and a retail trial pack. We sourced to spec. First catering drop landed on their calendar. Capability we can repeat, not a live warehouse SKU list.

Operating proof

Anonymised, because the banners are not ours to name.

We do not list major-chain private-label clients here. The numbers below are ones we already stand behind on this site.
